Volunteer Application

The volunteer filling this position will assist the Nutrition Program by working with her/him on a team with other volunteers (if applicable) who complete in-home assessments and re-assessments for home-delivered meals (HDM) clients in Thurston and Mason Counties. In order to recieve Meals on Wheels, homebound persons 60 years of age and older must have an in-home face-to-face assessment done initially when they enter the program and annually thereafter.

Qualifications: Strong passion for working with seniors; warm, kind, non-judgmental energy; have experience with GPS, Google Maps or MapQuest, hae experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Gmail, and record keeping. 

Reports directly to the Senior Nutrition Director

4hrs weekly, flexible schedule. Working closely with clients who have dementia related diseases, providing entertainment and assisting staff with enrichment activities while giving much needed respite to their caretakers.

The perfect job for a retired RN!  The Brighter Days Registered Nurse assesses participants’ health care needs, documents findings and recommendations and consults with program staff concerning nursing needs of participants, medically complex issues, health care policies and reviews participant ability to self –administer medications.  Assists with training of staff in development of health care procedures and policies.

Brighter Days is located at our Lacey Senior Center: Hours of operation 8:30-4

Flexible scheduling. 

You want to volunteer and you're not sure which direction to go, start will our Greatest Need project. This could be a temporary position or permanent if you so choose. Sometimes we just need a little help to cover vacations and sick time. Work varies: 3-4hrs weekly.

3 hour weekly commitment

Prepare and Serve fresh brewed coffee, tea, and other beverages. Clean and maintain coffee bar, manage inventory and socialize with our seniors. 

Assist Inclusion Coordinator with activities, crafts, bingo and fun for our members and guests with developmental challenges. 2-3 hrs weekly

4 hours weekly Lacey and Olympia Senior Centers Welcome guests, answer phones, route calls and take messages, collect fees, record memberships, both new and renewal and other activities as assigned. Computers skills required

We need volunteers for set up and breakdown!  

We're looking for a backup Meals on Wheels driver for the Yelm area in addition to kitchen volunteers. Must be vaccinated and boosted!

Assisting with various tasks, including setup and cleanup of event spaces, decorating, admissions, cash-handling, serving food and drinks, concessions, etc

Driving clients to and from medical appointments and essential errands. Drivers are required to submit of DOL driving manifest and Transportation Manager will evaluate your vehicle to ensure safety compliance. Mason County

Do you like driving around, we're looking for a reliable CDL drivers for our Trips & Tours program. Our bus travels around to interesting locations throughout western Washington. One or two trips a week/month.
